The New Creation

Add caption

THE NEW CREATION
“Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation old things are passed away; behold all things are become new” 2Corinthians 5:17

The born-again Christian is a new creation and as such   has been given a life in Christ. Among other things, the Christian is a Spirit, a new entity created in Christ Jesus. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of Spirit is Spirit.” John 3:6. What Jesus means is that, your human parents gave birth to a flesh and blood. That is you, however in Christ Jesus, we are born as a Spirit, and that is the new creation.

The new creation does not have a past, but a new personality in Christ. That is why as a Christian, you cannot think in retrospect to your past life before you got born- again. You are not suppose to trace your genealogy and affirm that a particular phenomena of life taking place in your life as part of your family issues. All things are new for the new creation and the former things are passed away.

We are called the “walls in newness of life”. (Romans 6:4). You are a new being, who has the nature of God and that makes you Spiritual. You walk according to the word of God. When you get converted to Christ your citizenship is inverted.
This means that you have being translated into the kingdom of God. The new creation is a Spirit that has the mindset of Christ in his or her life. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5

PRAYER
Thank you Lord, because I am born-again therefore I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I live a new life in Christ and function according to the word of God. I am a Spirit and the former things are passed away and all things are becoming new in my life.

Receive God’s Grace

“By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name” Romans 1:5

Grace is God’s gift for humanity. But we have the prerogative to receive or reject God’s grace. Grace is undeserved access or unmerited favour, going places you don’t deserve to go. Getting things you are not suppose to get.

The grace of God qualifies us to do somethings; we are not suppose to do, to received some blessing we don’t deserve. When we have grace, we get divine favour from God, to do things we couldn’t do. What you think you can’t do, the grace of God qualifies you to do.

Philippians 4:13 declares “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

This is the grace of God at work in you that enables you to do all things through Christ. Grace gives you divine strength to accomplish what the ordinary person cannot accomplish. By the grace of God, we are who we are in Christ Jesus.

The grace of God can enrich you and transform your life. The grace can promote you without credentials. You can receive God’s grace today that will change your life forever. Once you have that grace, you are certain of who you are and what you can accomplish.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for what you have done in my life. Today, I know that I can receive grace to function; I therefore ask that you give me the abundance of grace, so that I
will reign my life, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN.

Rejoice Always

REJOICE ALWAYS

“Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say, Rejoice” Philippians 4:4

Many Christians rejoice when things are going on well with them. But when things did not go the way, they thought, it should, they lose their joy and start to complain bitterly. But the word of God says, that we should rejoice at all times. For the true believer who has faith in the word of God, there is no bad day or bad news.

This is because the word of God says “all things work together for good to them that love God” Romans 8:28. The scripture says rejoice always this means even in the time of crises you still rejoice and sing praises to God, knowing that all the crises are working together for your good. When God is in our vessel we even smile at a storm, because we know that the storm will be calm.

There is nothing in this world that should happen to the Christian, for him or her to lose her joy. The world of God says “be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God”. Philippians 4:6.

During crises, the only thing you need to do is to pray and tell God your predicament and thank, God in advance for doing miracles through the crises. James 1:2-3 declares “My brother, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing, this that, the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

It is not easy for the natural person to rejoice in hard times, but when the Holy Spirit takes over your life it is possible. That is what makes Paul and silas to worship and praise God even in the prison. They were not sad because of the discomfort in the jail, but they were strengthened by the joy of the Lord. The scripture declares “the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 Cultivate the habit of rejoicing all the time.

PRAYER
Jesus, thank you for your word that teaches me to rejoice all the time, let the Holy Spirit of joy infuse my mind and heart so that I can be comforted from the word of God in troublous timeof even in the time trouble. Let the joy of the Lord be my strength forever in Jesus name. AMEN.

Having A Right Heart Before God

Having  A Right  Heart  Before  God

“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me” Psalm 51:10

Human beings will judge you by your outward appearance, but the bible says “God looks at the heart” 1Samuel 16:7.The condition of your heart in the sight of God is very imperative. Your heart determines who you are, if you have a good heart, always
thinking of good things, you will eventually become good.

However, if your heart is not right in the sight of God, that is; you conceive evil thoughts in your heart, it will manifest in your actions one day. Simon, once a witch doctor, who was trading power for money, saw that there is a greater power with the apostles, decided to become a Christian.

He got bone again, but his was a commercial one. One day he offered to buy the power of the Holy Ghost with money. Peter rebuked him sharply.

“Thou hath neither part nor lot in this matter; for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray to God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee for I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity.” Act 8:21-23.

The Psalmist prayed for a clean heart and a right spirit, he asked God to restore the joy of the Holy Spirit and salvation in his heart after the conviction that he has sinned against God. (Psalm 51:10-12). God strengthen everyone whose heart is perfect.

“For the eyes of the Lord run throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him ….”2 Chronicles 16:9. God is looking for people with perfect heart, so that he can use them. Make yourself available for God to use by providing a clean heart.

PRAYER
Oh God, purify my heart, help me not to conceive evil in my heart against my neighbor. Give me a right heart that desires to do well and to know more of you. Let your Holy Spirit sanctify my heart daily in Jesus name AMEN.

Praying The Right Way

Praying  The Right  Way
“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lust.” James 4:3 kjv

A lot of God’s children do wonder why their prayers are not answered. Most of our prayers are not born out of the right motive. When we pray it must be in accordance with the will of God for our lives.

When your prayer is against the will of God for your life, it means you are not praying right. When you lust for unnecessary things and you pray, asking God, to give them to you, God may not answer such prayers.

Jesus has to learn how to pray the right way in the garden of Gethsemane. Praying against the shameful death of the cross was not the right prayer for Jesus, because he would have forfeited the blessing and the glory that followed the cross.

Jesus finally accepted the will of God in his prayers. “ He went away again the second time, and prayed saying, Oh my father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done” Matthew 26 :12

The right way of praying is to discover the will of God for your life and pray that God’s will should be done in your life. Jesus taught his disciples how to pray and said among other things that we should say “thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven” Matthew 6:10.

PRAYER
Lord I thank you for revealing your will to me about prayer. Help me to discover your will for my life and teach me how to pray the right way so that I can have answered prayers in Jesus name AMEN.

Getting God's Attention

Getting  God's  Attention

“But verily God hath headed me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer” Psalm 66:19

There are times, when we really need God to pay attention to us. But how do we get God’s attention any way? We get God’s attention by that is effectual fervent prayer.

When God’s children pray fervently, they get God’s attention; however, the bible says that our sins can also hinder us from getting God’s attention.

“And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear, your hands are full of blood wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil” Isaiah 1:15-16

God expect us to be righteous and do what he requires of us. In 1Peter 3:12 the scripture declares “the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil?” The Christian that always do righteous deeds have God’s attention and answered prayers is the result of righteousness.

Cornelius, a centurion of an Italian army got God’s attention through his righteous deeds and that brought salvation to his household. “A devout man, and one that feared God with his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God always….. And he said unto him, thy prayers and thy alms are come up for a memorial before God”. Act 10:2-4 there are four things that Cornelius did to get God’s attention.

One, he was devoted to the things of God. Two, he feared God. Three, he gave alms to the people and he prayed to God always.
You can also get God’s attention, start today, and do something that will get God’s attention, so that your life can be changed.

PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, I really need your attention today. Help me to do things that will get your attention any time I pray. Lead me in the path of righteousness and bless my life forever in Jesus name. AMEN.

The Principle of Prayer For Godly Riches

The Principle Of Prayer

" Is any among you  afflicted ? Let him pray, Is any merry let him sing psalms. " James 1:13

At times things can be so hard, no matter how industrious one is. This type of situation calls for prayer like that of Jabez, he had to call upon God in prayer, before his situation was reversed. " And Jabez called upon the God of Isreal, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thy hand might be with me and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me .And God granted him that which he requested. " 1 Chronicles 4:10

The prayer points in Jabez prayer is very important for all of us to learn and use in our prayer life. One of the  things we need to ask for in prayer is the  blessings of God that makes you rich to possess godly riches  .The next thing is for God to enlarge his coast or territory of business. This prayer is for the increase in business and the multiplication of everything in his hands.

The next thing is that God's hand will be with him always;  this means the power of God should be with him continually. It is important because demonic powers can fight against your business,
God’s powerful hand must be with you to fight for you daily. " The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. " Exodus 14:14 Jabez also ask God in his prayer to keep him from evil, so that bad things will not happen in his life, business and family, that will bring him pain and grieve.

Because his name Jabez means sorrow or trouble that brings sadness, so he was actually praying that Godwill take away such troubles from his financial and business life.
That is why we need to pray constantly so that such things will not befall us .Jesus emphatically told us to " watch and pray ,that ye enter not into temptation, the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak ." Matthew 26:41 It is therefore  a necessity that we give some of our time to prayers no matter how busy we are.

Temptations like Job's losses, goods burning in a warehouse or shop, fraudsters duping could be avoided if we discover this principle of prayer and make it our life style.
